To celebrate Mountain Warehouse’s third kids collection with TV presenter and explorer Steve Backshall, we ran a competition to give 6 lucky kids the chance to meet the main man himself.
To enter and be in with a chance of winning, all entrants had to do was take a picture of themselves wearing the Steve B for Mountain Warehouse kit in action and share on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram with the hashtag #MEETSTEVEB.
Having launched back in April, the third range includes waterproof jackets, shorts, light fleeces, wellies, and water bottles, with alligator, shark, and seahorse prints; there are also graphic animal tees with jellyfish, chameleon and leopard prints. Heavily inspired by his love of animals, this limited edition collection is for children aged five to thirteen and aims to encourage kids to get back outside and explore nature by capturing the spirit of adventure through design and functionality.
It was great to see the kit in action and from all of the fantastic entries, 6 winners were chosen at random to meet Steve today at the Paradise Wildlife Park, and take part in their zookeeper experience. Zach, Maximus, Megan, Edward, Evan and Rufus spent 2 hours with Steve and one of the park’s keepers, getting to know the ins and outs of what a zookeeper does everyday as well as getting the chance to meet and learn all about some of the animals they care for.
The winners also took part in a meet and greet with Steve, getting their photos taken with him as well as a signed t-shirt from his Mountain Warehouse range and a signed copy of his book Steve Backshall’s Deadly 60. The winners also received a goody bag from the park, as a memento of their amazing experience. It was a fantastic day, with the kids loving every minute of their time with Steve, and a huge thank you to Paradise Wildlife Park for letting us take a sneak peak behind the scenes of life as a zookeeper.
