A. Dubbin and shoe polish are both wax based products designed to protect boots and shoes. Dubbin will not have a colour to improve the general appearance of your footwear like shoe polish but will help soften and condition leather boots (particularly important with walking footwear that needs breaking in). A general shoe polish can be easier to apply than dubbin but will do little to soften or condition your footwear. One common misconception is that dubbin rots stitching and leather, this is actually caused by poor boot maintenance.
