In 2016, Rigged and Ready was brought to life through the vision and tenacity of our founder, Andy Rigg. Andy's extensive career in sports and fashion marketing took him all around the globe, but during these travels, he faced a recurring problem. The lack of a suitable travel fishing rod. This challenge gave Andy an excellent idea, and what started as a side project quickly blossomed into a passionate mission that would change travel fishing tackle forever.

In the beginning, he set out to design a super compact multi-function fishing rod that could easily fit into his hand luggage. Andy began working on a travel rod that would be perfect for his personal needs, to go anywhere and fish everywhere. The enthusiasm for his innovative products quickly spread amongst friends and family, who all wanted one for camping trips, holidays, and various other adventures.

The initial project rapidly gained momentum, leading to the official birth of Rigged and Ready. Today, our product range includes numerous innovative travel rods and products jam-packed full of features that make our rods unparalleled in the field. The rod build material, tips, joints and handles have all been rigorously tested and are completely unique to us. These have been designed to minimise the compromise that comes with the compact nature of travel rods, and as a result, we have developed tackle that competes with considerably more expensive specialist gear.

Andy was fed up with mainstream fishing companies having terrible after-sales service, so he decided to embed outstanding customer care into the companies’ culture. Rigged and Ready now offer the best guarantee in the entire fishing industry. Years of hard work and dedication, coupled with a commitment to excellent customer service, has turned this concept into a thriving global community.

While tens of thousands of anglers all around the globe rely on our compact fishing gear, we have stayed true to our roots as a small family business based in the Lake District. Our team includes Jo, Andy's wife, who left her career in senior HR roles to join the business, and George from Adventure Fishing UK, whose adventurous spirit and passion for fishing perfectly complements our mission. And we mustn't forget Arthur, our loyal Lakeland Terrier. Being a rescue dog he had a tough start to life but has since flourished in his role as Head of Morale and office security.
