3 Peaks Challenge Kit List
- Walking Boots
Walking boots are the most important piece of gear you'll buy for the three peaks challenge. Whatever boots you choose, make sure you break them in on practice walks first.
- Walking Socks
Walking socks will help keep your feet comfortable and fresh. Remember to take extra pairs so you can change between the walks.
- Walking Trousers
Walking Trousers are durable, lightweight and fast drying to help you stay cool and comfortable as you walk.
Waterproof Walking Trousers
Our Pakka waterproof trousers will keep your legs dry and can be packed into their own bag, perfect for keeping in your rucksack in case of sudden downpours.
Convertible Walking Trousers
Convertible trousers are perfect for changing weather. They can be worn full length as trousers or the legs can be removed to create a pair of shorts.
- Waterproof Jacket
A waterproof jacket is essential for keeping you dry in the unpredictable British weather. Pakka jackets can be stored in a small bag, perfect for keeping in your rucksack.
- Fleece
Whenever you attempt the challenge it could still get cold, particularly at night. Pack a fleece to help you stay warm.
- Head Torch
If you are attempting to complete the challenge in 24 hours, some of your walking will take place in low light. A headtorch will allow you to light up the path ahead whilst leaving your hands free.
- Rucksack
A rucksack will help you carry some snacks and essentials for your walk. A hydration compatible bag will allow you to drink water without needing to stop and open your pack.
- Map & Compass
Make sure you have maps of the route and a compass to help you navigate!
- Blister Plasters
Blisters are one of the biggest complaints of three peaks walkers so be prepared with blister plasters.
- Travel Sickness Tablets
It's a long trip between the peaks so pack some tablets to minimise the effects of travel sickness.
- Snacks & Food
It's a long 24 hours so make sure you take enough food and snacks to keep you energised.
- Portable Charger
A portable charger will keep your phone ready for those beautiful pictures at the summits.
- Hydration Pack
A hydration pack and compatible backpack will allow you to drink water on the move.
- Spare Dry Clothes
Keeping spare clothes will allow you to stay fresh and dry between the walks.
- Sun Cream
You'll be outside in the sun for a large portion of your three peaks challenge so protect yourself with sun cream.
