Mountain Warehouse ULTRA has been designed for the avid explorer who loves to be outdoors no matter how extreme the conditions can be. ULTRA mixes style and high-level technical performance to create a range that won’t let you down when you need it most. The range includes water-resistant and windproof fleeces, the toughest boots we’ve ever released, and our most waterproof jackets and pants yet. So, are you ready to conquer the elements?

Waterproof Ability
How waterproof something is will always depend on its waterproof rating, the higher an item’s waterproof rating, the more waterproof it is. For example, if a product has a waterproof rating of 20,000 it has been tested to withstand 20,000mm of water column pressure without leaking. 20,000 is currently our highest waterproof rating and can be found in our ULTRA range, this rating will keep you dry through all wet weather conditions for long periods of time.

Breathability
How breathable an item of clothing is affects how comfortable you will be on your activity. Breathable garments allow minuscule molecules of perspiration to escape from the inside while stopping rain from the outside sinking in. Moisture vapor transfer is measured in grams and is related to how much vapor can pass through the fabric in a 24 hour period. The higher the number, the more breathable your item will be. Many ULTRA products have a high breathability rating of 4,000.
